The impact of highlighting content in your subject line

I am currently putting together a trending report for one of our customers. They publish a monthly newsletter that is sent to the members of their association.
In trending across 5 issues, I matched up the subject lines – all included a title of one of the articles within the newsletter – with the overall most popular articles across those 5 issues:
Every single article appearing in the subject lines was in the top 15 most popular articles across those 5 issues. (Out of approximately 60 articles in total.)
4 of those 5Â articles were in the top 5 most popular articles.
Of the 5 subject lines; 3 of the newsletter’s #1 articles were the same as the article featured in the subject line. In the other 2, one article featured in the subject line was #2 most popular, the other was #3 most popular.
It certainly highlights the importance of the subject line.
